“The reason why I want to do this fund raising event is simply my empathy and affinity with a nation’s suffering, as in Bangladesh my home country”

Lucky Nizami 22.01.2010

Food for thought... evening was a great success raising over £1550 for the children of Haiti.  Lucky was taken aback by the level of support from the local community.  The evening saw David Rendel & Mayor Kuldip Singh Kang both give up their evening to support the event.  The restaurant had seen a large number of people attend during the day. Lucky was very pleased with the evening and is looking forward to seeing the money being given to UNICEF.

It should be noted that this was a joint effort between Lucky and his great team, plus the Mayor of Newbury and good people such as David and Melanie Owens’, who's contribution of their immense skills and ceaseless enthusiasm, and not forgetting the many people of West Berkshire that attended made this a memorable occasion.

The West Berkshire Minority Ethnic Forum is proud to have been part of this worthy event, which demonstrated that at times of strife people's from diverse backgrounds come together to support those in need.  The commonality of our existence and the happiness and suffering that this may bring binds us together no matter which continent we may hail from.
