Pakistan Charity Appeal...

Having seen the suffering of those poor people in Pakistan, we felt we really need to help.  Food 4 Thought seemed to be the right thing to do...

Food for thought... Following the unexpected floods in Pakistan, that we know they have caused a hugh amount of death and destruction.  The conditions in Pakistan are still extremely difficult with the damage to roads and broken bridges complicating access to a lot of the badly affected areas and ongoing rainfall is still hampering the relief effort. Clean drinking water and sanitation facilities are one of the key needs for people affected by the floods and we have started to see the break out of water borne disease...


The last time we did Food 4 thought it was for the Haiti, and you all demonstrated that in times of strife, people from diverse backgrounds can come together to support those in need.  The commonality of our own existence, seeing the suffering of another people binds us together no matter which continent we may hail from... Lets see what we can do this time...


We have chosen to support The British Red Cross who are working with the International Red Cross & Red Crescent.  These two organisations moved very quickly and to date they have reached 77,000 people with aid; including food, clean water, shelter and medical care. In the coming weeks, it will continue distributing relief items to around 250,000 people.  Food being distributed includes rice, ghee, sugar, salt and tea. Other items include blankets, tents, tarpaulins, kitchen sets, hygiene kits, jerry cans and stoves.


We know people are suffering following the monsoon Floods in Pakistan’s but let us take this opportunity pass our generosity on to them... Make this the meal make a difference in someone else`s life.  All monies raised from your meal (excluding drinks) will go to the British Red Cross to help deliver life saving aid to those effected by the flooding in Pakistan.
